Friday 20 September - Live Music - Launch Party

Kicking of this year's Windsor Festival Fringe with a positive tasty tapas of rocksteady, dub, ska, funk, from Reasons To Be Cheerful Soundsystem.

Saturday 21 September - Mixed Arts - Girls Record Lounge present 'Getting It Back: The Story of Cymande'. (2022, 90 mins, Cert.12)

The untold story of the greatest London band you’ve likely never heard of. In the racially turbulent UK of the early 70s, a group of black musicians assembled with a common love of rhythms and a message of peace, to form 'Cymande'. Includes the film screening, discussion with the film's director Tim Mackenzie-Smith, Emmy-winning film editor Steve Williams + GRL DJs.

The story of sisters Ellen and Inger, who has schizophrenia, and how their relationship is challenged on a coach trip to Paris.  Eloquent on the stigmas faced by those with mental illness, this is a subtle, funny and involving drama.

Queen Charlotte is known to millions of fans of the hit Netflix TV series Bridgerton as the haughty, meddling and frightening Queen in Georgian English society. But who was the real Queen Charlotte? We will walk in her footsteps around the oldest part of Windsor, the town where she is buried.

In 1870s France, Rosalie is a young woman born with a face and body covered in hair.  She’s concealed her peculiarity all her life, until a bar owner unaware of her secret marries Rosalie for her dowry.  Will Abel be able to see Rosalie as the woman she is once he finds out her secret? 

Based on a true story, this is an optimistic and open-hearted tale about difference and acceptance.

Thurs 3 to Sat 5 October - Theatre - The Kenneth Branagh Award for New Drama Writing 2024

The three finalists will have their plays fully staged each night for three nights on 3, 4 and 5 October. On the final night the overall winner will be announced, and will be awarded the £500 prize.
